Old Cobblers Farm™ Wicked Feed Alfalfa Pellets

Old Cobblers Farm™ Wicked Feed Alfalfa Pellets

Product Overview

Description

Wicked Feed Alfalfa Pellets are premium-quality, compressed alfalfa hay processed into convenient, uniform pellets for easy feeding and minimal waste. Sourced from sun-cured, nutrient-dense alfalfa, these pellets deliver exceptional protein content (typically 15-17%), essential amino acids, and naturally occurring vitamins and minerals that support overall animal health. The pelletizing process preserves the nutritional integrity of fresh alfalfa while eliminating the dust, mold risk, and storage challenges associated with loose hay. Each pellet maintains consistent nutritional value from bag to bag, ensuring your animals receive reliable, high-quality feed every time. Ideal for horses, rabbits, goats, chickens, and other livestock, Wicked Feed Alfalfa Pellets provide the fiber necessary for healthy digestion while offering a protein boost that supports muscle development, milk production, and general vitality.

Intended Use

Wicked Feed Alfalfa Pellets serve as a versatile feed supplement or primary forage replacement for a wide range of animals. For horses, use as a hay replacement or supplement—particularly beneficial for senior horses with dental issues, hard keepers needing additional calories, or performance horses requiring extra protein. Feed 1-2% of body weight daily, adjusting based on activity level and other forage availability. For rabbits and small herbivores, alfalfa pellets provide essential nutrition for growth, breeding, and lactation; offer unlimited pellets to young rabbits under 6 months and pregnant or nursing does, then transition adults to measured portions. For poultry, scatter pellets as a protein-rich treat or mix into feed to boost egg production and feather quality during molting season. For goats and sheep, use as a supplemental feed during lactation, late pregnancy, or when pasture quality is poor—especially valuable for dairy goats needing calcium and protein for milk production. Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight; always provide fresh water alongside feeding.

Animals To Use With

HORSES: Soak pellets in water for 10-15 minutes before feeding to senior horses or those prone to choke; feed dry to healthy adults. Introduce gradually over 7-10 days, replacing up to 50% of hay ration. Ideal for mixing with grain or feeding separately in a bucket or feeder. | RABBITS: Serve in a heavy ceramic dish or J-feeder to prevent tipping. Young rabbits and nursing does can have unlimited access; adult maintenance rabbits should receive measured portions (1/4 cup per 5 lbs body weight). Always pair with unlimited grass hay for proper fiber balance. | GOATS & SHEEP: Offer in feed troughs or rubber pans; can be fed on the ground if area is clean and dry. Pregnant and lactating does benefit from free-choice access. Mix with grain rations or feed as a standalone supplement. | POULTRY: Scatter on the ground to encourage foraging behavior, add to treat dispensers, or mix small amounts into fermented feed. Chickens and ducks will peck at pellets readily. | GUINEA PIGS & CHINCHILLAS: Use sparingly as a treat or supplement for young, pregnant, or nursing animals only—adult maintenance animals should primarily receive timothy-based pellets due to lower calcium needs.
